Three Dances
for beginner snare drum and piano

When I worked at Falcetti Music in Springfield, Massachusetts I often chatted with other teachers in the store. Mark Richardson was a percussion teacher there at the time. At one point Mark had a beginner student who was playing snare drum and learning basic rhythms. Mark mentioned that he didn't have a lot of fun music to give the student. I said it would be fun to write a little piece for snare drum and piano. The goal would be to show off good basic rhythms in a performance. So I quickly wrote these three dances. They're simple and repetitive, and performing them should be straightforward.
